Audio 2 and Projections Technician



Classification: Part-time/per show

Terms of Employment:

The Great Leap: Oct 21, 2022– November 20, 2022

Light It Up!: November 26, 2022– December 22, 2022

I’m Back Now: January 25, 2023 – February 26, 2023

Becoming Dr. Ruth: March 23, 2023 – April 23, 2023

Ken Ludwig’s Moriarty: April 21, 2023– May 21, 2023

Reports to: Audio and Projections Supervisor



Cleveland Play House (CPH) is seeking an Audio 2 and Projections Technician to join the production team for the 2022-23 season productions of The Great Leap, Light It Up, I’m Back Now, Dr. Ruth, and/or Moriarty, to ensure consistently high quality sound effects and/or music and live vocal reinforcement and video for each technical rehearsal and performance while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.



Responsibilities include:



•        Preshow –

•          Battery and test wireless with Sound and Projection Technician

•          Assist Sound and Projection Technician with Sound and Projections Check as needed

•          Set up any Foley for show

•          Assist actors with microphone placement as needed

•          Other duties as assigned by Stage Manager



•        During Show – (in no particular order)

•            Monitor wireless devices, alert Audio Operator if a problem is noticed

•            Work with Audio operator and SM to correct issues during the show

•            Keep in constant communication with Audio Operator and SM

•            Set up and run any Foley during the show

•            Assist with troubleshooting projections during show if needed



•        Post show –

•            Check condition of all wireless devices

•             Remove batteries and set them to charging

•             Check with Audio Operator as to what maintenance needs to be done

•              Maintain accurate and up to date paper work and time sheets

•             Help keep booth, FX room, and sound storage areas clean and free of debris

•             Follow all health, safety and anti-racism guidelines established by the theatre; report unsafe conditions or practices to your supervisor immediately

Related Responsibilities:


•      Arrive on time and ready to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment.



Desired experience and skills include:



•        Knowledge of theatrical sound systems and equipment

•        Knowledge of basic electronics and proper soldering/wiring practices

•        Familiarity with wireless microphone care and maintenance a plus

•        Familiarity with Theatrical Projections a plus



Work Schedule:



Designer Run, Tech week and Performance, 4-hour minimum calls, 6 days a week, Tuesday-Sunday. Two shows Saturday, matinee Sunday



Compensation: $16.00/hour
