The Sounds of Saint James concert series returns with “The Cleveland Consort of Voices” Sunday, September 18 at 4pm at St. James Church, 17514 Detroit Ave. Lakewood, Ohio.

The series was created by award winning St. James Church Music Director, Adam Chlebek.

Adam is a student of Jonathan Moyer, completing his bachelor’s degree in Organ Performance

at Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He is a Dean’s Scholarship winner and captured second

Place in the Taylor Organ Competition 2022-2023.

The concert features the recently formed octet under the leadership of Professor Steven Plank,

Director of Oberlin’s Collegium Musicum and Andrew B. Meldrum Professor in the Department

of Musicology. He received the Thomas Brinkley Award from Early Music America in 2009 and

studied under Sir Curtis Price. Professor Plank has specialized in the relationship of liturgical spirituality and musical style.

The eight Consort members are exceptional talents drawn from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music, the Cleveland Opera, the Cleveland Chamber Chorus, and the St. Paul’s Episcopal Choir in Cleveland, Heights.
