*If you can not make auditions please email us your headshot and resume for consideration. If possible, submit a video audition for consideration. We do our best to see and consider additional people, but attending auditions is always ideal.

Audition Date: Saturday September 3

Time: 1:00pm-5:00pm (Time slots will be assigned every 5 minutes)

What to prepare:  Please prepare two contrasting 32 bars or short songs in the style of one of the show. Think 80s synth pop. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring a headshot and resume to auditions. Headshots and resumes are appreciated, but not required.

Performance Dates: October 21 - November 5. Shows will be Thursday-Sunday. Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 8pm. Sunday performances will be at 7pm.  (Show will open on a Friday night and close on a Saturday night)

Rehearsals: Begin September 19. Rehearsals will be Sundays-Thursdays. Typically 7pm-10pm, though Sundays are usually 6pm-10pm.

Pay: Blank Canvas Theatre dedicates 20% of the net profit to the cast of each show. The cast splits this evenly.

*At this time there are no AEA Contracts for this show. However, we may explore the option if needed.

The Story

Based on the electrifying novel by Bret Easton Ellis, the musical tells the story of Patrick Bateman, a young and handsome Wall Street banker with impeccable taste and unquenchable desires. Patrick and his elite group of friends spend their days in chic restaurants, exclusive clubs, and designer labels. But at night, Patrick takes part in a darker indulgence, and his mask of sanity is starting to slip...

Character Breakdown

The age range for each character is flexible and ALL ethnicities and body types will be considered. The below character tracks may be changed or altered based on those that audition.

*Because of the nature of the content of this show, we are seeking actors over the age of 18*

NEEDED: (8 F, 8 M)

Looking for a group of solid, strong movers with strong pop/rock voices.
ONE Male role can be NON-SINGING (see below)

PATRICK BATEMAN (Male, 20-40) The narrator. Extremely attractive, in excellent physical shape. Has obsessive compulsive disorder. Immaculate, well-groomed, always has the best clothes, the best furniture, the best of everything. Has an aura of self-importance, but actually he disgusts himself. Drug addict. Capable of sadistic humor. His self-hatred and hatred of the society that has sculpted him leads him to violent ends.

JEAN (Female, 18-35) Patrick's secretary; in love with him; compared to everyone else, she's the most switched on and normal; the only person who truly understands Patrick.

PAUL OWEN (Male, 18-35) immaculate; classy; Patrick's colleague and a threat to him; handling the most important account at Pierce & Pierce, which Patrick is extremely jealous about; can never remember who Patrick is; he calls him Marcus, which enrages Patrick; Ivy League sense of entitlement stemming from a wealthy upbringing.

MRS. BATEMAN/SVETLANA/MRS. WOLFE (Female, 40-65+) to play Svetlana, Mrs. Bateman, Patrick's wealthy mother; and Mrs. Wolfe, a real estate agent.

EVELYN WILLIAMS (Female 18-35) Patrick's trophy girlfriend; self-obsessed like all the others; never listens to anyone, especially Patrick; loves the idea of marriage; highly materialistic; Ivy League sense of entitlement stemming from a wealthy upbringing.

VANDEN (Female, 18-35) a club kid who sings at Tunnel.

DAVID VAN PATTEN (Male, 18-35) Patrick's co-worker; part of the foursome of friends; self-obsessed; chauvinistic; obsessed with women; Ivy League sense of entitlement stemming from a wealthy upbringing.

LUIS CARRUTHERS (Male 18-35) not as well-dressed as the others; Patrick's co-worker; dating Courtney but secretly in love with Patrick; Ivy League sense of entitlement stemming from a wealthy upbringing.

VICTORIA (Female, 18-35) Patrick's neighbor from his building with an Ivy League sense of entitlement stemming from a wealthy upbringing; and a bartender, attractive with a great physique.

SEAN BATEMAN/SECURITY GUARD (Male, 18-35) Patrick's younger brother; a writer; just out of college; Patrick thinks he's a pain.

CHRISTINE/HARDBODY TRAINER/HARDBODY WAITRESS (Female, 18-35) prostitute; a little trashy; has a threesome with Patrick and Sabrina, who in turn performs extremely violent acts on her; sexy; good physique.

VIDEO STORE CLERK/SABRINA (Female, 18-35) prostitute/escort; has a threesome with Patrick and Christine, who in turn performs extremely violent acts on her and eventually kills her; good physique.

CRAIG MCDERMOTT/TOM CRUISE/ATM (Male. 18-35) Patrick's co-worker; part of the foursome of friends; self-obsessed; chauvinistic; obsessed with material things; Ivy League sense of entitlement stemming from a wealthy upbringing.

TIMOTHY PRICE (Male, 18-35) Patrick's best friend; part of the foursome of friends; has huge anger issues; highly negative; Ivy League sense of entitlement stemming from a wealthy upbringing.

COURTNEY LAWRENCE (Female, 18-35) dating Luis but secretly having an affair with Patrick; loves compliments and the expensive things in life; materialistic; Ivy League sense of entitlement stemming from a wealthy upbringing.

DETECTIVE DONALD KIMBALL/LLOYD/HOMELESS MAN (Male, 35-55+) private detective investigating Paul Owen's disappearance; has a strangeness; singing a plus but not necessary for this role
