* Joanne Hughes Morscher is a renowned classical ballet teaching artist
with 20+ years of experience providing education, methodology, and
comprehensive classical training to rising students and professional
dancers. A native of Buffalo, NY, Ms. Morscher is a former principal dancer
with North Coast Ballet Theatre. Today, she continues serving the Greater
Cleveland ballet community as a guest teaching artist, staff instructor at
Cleveland City Dance, and Board Member of Verb Ballets. In 2022, Ms.
Morscher received her Youth Protection Advocates in Dance (YPAD)
certification. *

*Ms. Morscher began her ballet training under the direction of Bernadine
DeMike, Janet Springer, and Ginger Burke. She continued her ballet
career—serving as a corps de ballet member and later principal dancer—with
acclaimed Cleveland ballet artists Marguerite Duncan and Nancy Arcury. Ms.
Morscher has supplemented her training under Dee Hillier, Lynn Brennan
Tabor, Troy McCarty, and Paul Wilson. Ms. Morscher continues her lifelong
pursuit of dance education by attending various classical workshops in the
Fokine, Vaganova, American, and Bournonville styles. She is a member of the
Classical Dance Alliance (CDA), the International Dance Council (CID), and
in 2021 completed Years 1-4 of teacher training in the Method of Teaching
Classical Ballet.*

*In 1998, Ms. Morscher founded The Royal School of Ballet (RSB), and in
2004 founded the 501(c)3 status Royal Youth Ballet Company (RYBC). Serving
as artistic director of both the ballet school and youth company, Ms.
Morscher presented her students and original choreography across Northeast
Ohio and at nationwide Youth America Grand Prix festivals. Cleveland-area
dance companies founded by Ms. Morscher’s former students include Dancing
Classrooms Northeast Ohio, the Cleveland Dance Project, and The Movement
Project. *
