Snowbelt Symphony presents Joy To The World!

The Snowbelt Symphony Orchestra presents “Joy To The World!” Saturday, December 17 at 4:00pm at Harvey High School in Painesville. The concert will feature a variety of traditional and popular Christmas favorites like Sleigh Ride, The Twelve Days of Christmas, and a medley of songs from favorite Christmas movies. Soprano Abigayle Williams will join the orchestra to sing a medley of holiday songs by Irving Berlin, O Holy Night, and more.  The concert will be conducted by Snowbelt Symphony music director, Greg Hillis.

A native of Alabama, soprano Abigayle Williams is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music. She has sung a number of operatic and musical theater roles, including singing the role of Belinda in a filmed version of Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas which premiered earlier this year. In the spring Ms. Williams will cover the role of Adele in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus with Opera Huntsville (Alabama). Abigayle teaches voice lessons at the Fine Arts Association in Willoughby.

This will be the Snowbelt Symphony’s fourth performance since launching in March of this year. It will also be the largest group of musicians the orchestra has used with 45 players on stage. All of the symphony musicians are professionals from Northeast Ohio. They can also be found playing with the orchestras in Akron, Canton, Youngstown, the Cleveland Pops and at Playhouse Square.

“I’m excited to be conducting this fun program with these wonderful musicians,” says music director Greg Hillis. “This concert is going to be a ton of fun for the whole family. We’d love to see kids from 1 to 92 in the audience!”

Tickets for the Joy To The World! concert are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors, and $8 for students. Tickets can be purchased online at www.snowbeltmusical.org. Harvey High School is located at 200 W. Walnut Ave in Painesville. The school has free onsite parking and is ADA accessible.

The Snowbelt Symphony Orchestra is a brand new, fully-professional orchestra bringing accessible, affordable, high-quality live classical music performances to Lake and Geauga counties. The orchestra performed its first concert in March 2022.
