Talespinner Children's Theatre is seeking a Costume Designer for our production of Hook and Smee 

Dates: Rehearsals start January 28th, Tech Starts March 4th with Performances March 11th-26th

Talespinner Children’s Theatre is seeking a costume designer for their Spring 2023 production of Hook and Smee by T Paul Lowry. Hook and Smee will be directed by Ren Twardzik, and will run March 11th to the 26th, with the potential for 1-2 matinee performances on Fridays as the schedules of the actors allow.

THE PLAY
(From local Cleveland playwright, T Paul Lowry) In honor of ten years of shows, welcome back a popular TCT show. Captain Hook is a name to send delightful shivers down the spine of anyone who knows the tale of Peter Pan, and Tinkerbell. But have you ever wondered just how Hook came to Never Never Land with his merry band of buccaneers? This is the story of how Hook met Smee and came to be the scourge of “the Land of Pan.” All your favorite characters are here but get ready for some giddy surprises that will make you clap your hands with glee.

ROLE
The costume designer in collaboration with the creative team will create a design, then pull, alter and/or construct costumes for seven actors. There will be a minimum of three production meetings (may be held in person or over zoom). The designer will track expenses, stay within the budget constrictions of the production and fill out the advance funds/reimbursement form. The designer will be required to launder costumes between Sunday after the 3pmperformance and Friday morning at 8am.

PRODUCTION NEEDS
Seven actors and one understudy. Some actors play multiple parts, making eleven characters total. The roles mostly include pirates and students in uniform.  

COMPENSATION
The stipend for this production is $500.
