*Join students from Baldwin Wallace University’s renowned music theatre
department *for an evening featuring BWMT’s BIPOC students. Members of the
BWMT program will perform music from all genres as they present songs that
are meaningful to them Members of the BWMT program will perform music from

this opportunity to be unified by pride in our students and to celebrate
all the richness and benefits we enjoy from being a diverse community.  All
proceeds will be donated to the Kyle Jean-Baptiste Scholarship Fund.

*Kyle Jean-Baptiste* (1993-2015) was a part of the BWMT Class of 2015.  He
was a very popular Baldwin Wallace grad who was the youngest, as well as
the first Black actor, to play the role of Jean Valjean in Les Misérables
on Broadway.  He was also slated to be a cast member of the revival of the
musical The Color Purple. On August 29, 2015, a day after departing Les
Misérables and two days after his final performance as Valjean,
he tragically passed, after accidentally falling from a fire escape in
Brooklyn, New York.”  Scholarships in his name exist at Fiorello H.
LaGuardia High School and at Baldwin Wallace University.
