Everything I Feel (A Devised Piece)

Talespinner Children’s Theatre is holding auditions for actors ages 18 and
up for our Summer 2023 production of "Everything I Feel." To audition
please submit a video before 11:59 pm April 14th, that includes you
retelling your favorite children’s story (under five minutes), a children’s
song of your choice (1 minute or less), and play with an object outside of
the object’s original state/purposes. Videos, resumes and headshots can be
sent to rtwardzik at talespinnercle.org. Callbacks may be held on April 15th
and 16th.  "Everything I Feel" will be directed by Mariah Burks, and will
run June 2nd to the 11th. There is a separate opportunity to join the
touring company of the production, which would require daytime
availability, and come with additional compensation. The show will run
roughly 20-30 minutes and will have five shows per weekend on Saturday and
Sunday.

Please review the following details before scheduling an audition. All
roles are available.

THE SCHEDULE

Rehearsals begin on April 19th. A typical rehearsal process meets three
evenings a week, and one weekend. Tech week starts on May 27th.
Performances will be Saturday at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, Sundays at 11am and
1pm, there will also be a possible Friday matinee at 9:30am or 11am. The
performances dates are June 3rd-11th.

THE PLAY

A devised piece, created for our youngest audience members by the cast,
director and creative team. This will be a gentle, interactive performance.
It will explore emotions through puppetry, movement and song. Everything I
Feel will celebrate stories that help us understand our feelings, both
little and big.

Everything I Feel will be created through devising and told through
puppetry and song. Comfort and experience with all three is a plus.

Interested performers should record a five-minute retelling of their
favorite children’s book and a children’s song no longer than a minute, as
well as record themselves playing with an object outside of the object’s
original state/purposes. Actors should also provide their resume (and a
headshot if desired) when submitting their video. Actors *must* be
available for all weekend performances.

ROLES

3 dynamic, energetic actors comfortable with multiple roles.

Actor must possess strong movement skills, and ability to play various ages.


Talespinner Children's Theatre is seeking a group that is diverse in terms
of race, gender, ability, and neurodiversity.

COMPENSATION:

All actors will be paid $400 for the production.
