[NEohioPAL] IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR PIANIST

North Eaton Christian Church is seeking a pianist to help us sustain and
grow our worship life. We are accustomed to excellence in music ministry,
and we'll continue to reach for excellence as we receive candidates for the
role of Pianist.

 

Skills needed:

. Excellent pianist and accompanist

. Capable of leading the congregation's hymn-singing from the keyboard

. Confident sight-reader

. Collaborative leader, working with church staff and volunteers

. Clear communicator

 

Responsibilities:

1. Perform music (hymns, incidental music, accompaniment of soloists and
ensembles) during Sunday worship services on the piano and/or another
keyboard. Singing is not required, but a strong sense of musical leadership
is critical.

2. On occasion, rehearse for special services or solo/ensemble
accompaniment, including weekday evenings or Sunday mornings prior to or
following worship service.

3. Provide music at church weddings and funeral/memorial services when
available. The Pianist has the right of first refusal on all weddings and
funeral/memorial services held at the church (and shall receive any
honorarium provided).

4. Be available for special services during the course of the year, such as
Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Blue Christmas, Christmas Eve, Community
Services. Some of these are evening events.

5. Coordinate with the Pastor regularly in planning, preparing, and playing
appropriately for the liturgical season or day.

6. Advise the office on the condition of instruments, as needed.

 

Schedule:

Weekly worship services are presently at 9 a.m. Rehearsal times will need to
be appropriately scheduled and reported weekly.

 

Compensation:

The position will be a maximum of 8 hours/week. Wages are competitive for
this position at $20/hour.
