Bat Boy: The Musical 

Bat Boy: The Musical is a musicalcomedy/horror show by Keythe Farley and Brian Flemming, with music and lyricsby Laurence O’Keefe. The show runs July 20-23, 2023 (Thursday/Friday/Saturdayat 7:30 and Sunday at 3:00) at the Spotlights Theater, 9543 Broadview Road (onthe Broadview Heights City Campus next to the Police Department). 

Itis the story about a half boy/half bat creature who is discovered in a cavenear Hope Falls, West Virginia. For lack of a better solution, the localsheriff brings Bat Boy to the home of the town veterinarian, Dr. Parker, wherehe is eventually accepted as a member of the family and taught to act like a“normal” boy by the veterinarian’s wife, Meredith, and teenage daughter,Shelley. Bat Boy is happy with his new life, but when he naively tries to fitin with the narrow-minded people of Hope Falls, they turn on him, prodded bythe machinations of Dr. Parker, who secretly despises Bat Boy. Shelley and BatBoy, who have fallen in love, run away together from the ignorant townsfolk andhave a blissful coupling in the woods, but their happiness is shattered whenMeredith arrives and reveals a secret. Soon the entire town arrives and hearsthe shocking story of Bat Boy’s unholy origin.

TimAnderson is directing the show along with music director Ryan Bergeron. Thecast features Jordan Potter, Stephanie Malfara, David Rusnak, Elizabeth Domer, MadelineSaraniti, Ian Stewart, 
Lindsay MacLeod, Abigail Collinsworth, Joy Fowler, and Calvin Adkins. The show is produced by LisaMortensen.
