Twin Masks Performing Arts Center (Twinsburg, OH) is pleased to announce auditions for:THE ELEPHANT MANby Bernard Pomerancedirected by Don BernardoJohn Merrick, known as “The Elephant Man” had lived for more than twenty years imprisoned in a body that condemned him to a miserable life. But beneath his tragic exterior thrived the soul of a poet, the heart of a dreamer, the longings of a man. Merrick was doomed to suffer forever, until he was rescued, housed and fed by the distinguished surgeon, Frederick Treves.PERFORMANCE DATES AND LOCATION:November 3-4, 10-11, 17-18 (six performances, 8pm curtain)Twin Masks Performing Arts Center9076 Church Street, Suites 2 & 3Twinsburg, OH 44087AUDITION DATES:Sunday, August 27 and Monday, August 28, 2023 – 7:00pmAuditions will be held at the theatre.SIGN UPS:No preparation necessary. This will be a “cattle call” audition with cold readings from the script. Auditioners will be called up to read sides solo, in pairs or groups until everyone has read sufficiently for the director. All actors will double, except for those playing Merrick, Treves and Kendall.    - British (Mainstream RP) and Cockney accents will be used in this production.
   - It is the intention of the director that the role of Merrick will be played as contorted, if possible. If you have back or other physical limitations that will prevent you from performing in this manner, please do not audition for this role.
   - The actor playing Mrs. Kendall should be comfortable performing a scene including perceived frontal nudity (waist up), which will be tastefully done (i.e. back to audience). Please do not audition for this role if this is unacceptable to you.
WHAT TO BRING:HeadshotResumeList of ALL conflicts during rehearsal period.REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:Sunday thru Thursday, 7:30pm to 9:30pm starting Sunday, September 17 until Tech Week.
