Bass player, here.  Akron based (bassed?).  Upright bass, electric bass, fretless bass ukulele...whatever I can get my hands on.

I went back to school, survived, graduated, began working in my field right out of school, and now am about to leave my full-time job for a part time position at a lower pay rate.  Lots of reasons why, but it comes down to a mix of what is needed for my soul, hopes of staging myself for better things to come...and stupidity.

I figure those years as a freelance musician have prepared me for this very moment, but I'm still freaking out a bit and am ready to pimp myself out for the opportunity to pay the utility bill!  Bonus if it finally gives me reason to drag the big speaker cabinet out of the house so that I can justify it.

Hit me up if you need a bass player-even if just to sub for a night or three.  If notes are written, I'll drop in and play them.  I may even get most of them right!  I've had to sub for shows like Evita, Children of Eden, and Pippin without rehearsals so I'm familiar with flying by the seat of my pants on things far more complicated than root-fifth-root.

Need somebody for a church gig?  I gotcha covered.  Is your choir adding some instrumentalists for a show?  Bring it on.  Is your doo-wop band playing in a Chevy dealership in a setting so thrown together that the horn section has to stand in the bed of a pickup truck next to the "stage" in order to fit?  Been there.  Orchestra is my bread and butter and I've played far more operas than I've seen, including a season filling in with the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra, so I am very familiar with following conductors and reacting to little changes from the stage.

Let me know if we can work together.  My schedule can be a little weird with having two orchestra contracts that may interfere, but I'm all for working in things that will fit.  I'm just not willing to lose money on the venture.  I may be living on PB&J, but the pets get good food and I need to pay for that somehow!
