Happy New Year from me and all of us at Writers in Residence!
Join us on Friday, Jan. 19th, 2024 at 7:30 pm to celebrate the release of our six chapbooks from the fall 2023 program season! Lekko Coffee will host this event where parking is available in the rear and on the street.Purchase your tickets online in advance for $15 or at the door for $20. Tickets include entry, free food, and a chapbook from one of our cohorts at the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center. The coffee shop will offer hot and cold decaf and caffeinated drinks as well as seasonal specialty mocktails.Enjoy performances by Damien McClendon, Stephanie Ginese, Quartez Harris, Kisha Nicole Foster, and alums from our Creative Writing Workshops. A Q&A about the juvenile justice system with Spencer Dolezal, Sadie Owens, and a juvenile facility staff member will conclude the evening.Bring yourself. Bring a friend. Just be there. You will have a chance to buy books, win raffle prizes, and grab merch! This is our first event in the new year that you don't want to miss.This event will be photographed, recorded, and signed by an American Sign Language interpreter.
