*WHO ATE THE SUN*

Lorain County Community College theatre program and Spark Theatre Company
announce non-equity auditions for “Who Ate The Sun,” a new take on the
timeless tale. Fascinated by stars and planets, Ash loves to study the sky.
One afternoon on a walk through the neighborhood, the sun disappears
entirely! Follow their journey as Ash and some animal friends ask, “Who ate
the sun?” This play is a World Premiere Production, written by Cleveland
playwright, Erin E. Dolan, especially for this spring's solar eclipse!

Copies of the script will be on reserve at the LCCC Bass Library until the
audition dates. Digital copies for perusal may also be obtained by emailing
sparktheatre4youth at gmail.com.

WHO: Auditions are open to all LCCC students and staff, as well as actors
from the community. We are seeking actors of all types for performances at
LCCC Stocker Arts Center’s Cirigliano Theatre, as well as actors to travel
with the show on tour to schools in May. Actors do NOT need to be available
for the tour to audition. We will likely have a larger cast for the LCCC
April public performances, and a select group of actors to double roles for
the May tour. Actors may be considered for both options but have the option
to audition for just one or the other.

WHAT:  Auditions will be held in 5-minute time slots. You will be asked to
read from available sides at the audition. If available, please bring one
copy of your headshot and resume to the audition.

AUDITION DATES:

Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 2 pm – 4 pm and
Monday, January 22, 2024 from 7 pm – 9 pm

Callbacks will be held Wednesday, January 24 from 7pm-9pm, as needed.

Rehearsals to begin on Monday, February 5, 2024

PUBLIC PERFORMANCE DATES at Cirigliano Theatre:

March 21 – 22, 2024 at 7:30 pm
March 23 at 2pm
March 21 & 22 at 9:45 & 11:45am (for school field trips)

Students cast will receive letters to excuse them from any LCCC classes
that might conflict with the matinee performances.

TOURING PERFORMANCE DATES: May 1-26, 2024. To be considered for the touring
portion of this production, actors should have reasonable availability or
flexibility during school hours from May 1-26, some conflicts are fine, and
tours will be scheduled around actor availability. The tour is expected to
perform approximately 15-20 performances throughout the month of May to
schools in NE Ohio.
