***UPCOMING AUDITIONS***
The Blue Macaroon Theater Company in Doylestown announces AUDITIONS for
STEEL MAGNOLIAS on SUNDAY, MARCH 3RD from 6 - 8pm and MONDAY, MARCH 4THfrom
7-9pm. The live performances will be the weekend of May 17 - 19, 2024.

We are looking for six adult women of a wide variety of ages to tell the
comedic and heart-wrenching story of Robert Harling's "Steel Magnolias"!
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up.

Please prepare a one to two minute energetic and/or emotional monologue.
You will also be asked to cold-read one or two samples from the script.

Cast of Characters (ALL ROLES AVAILABLE):

TRUVY JONES - 40ish.  Owner of the beauty shop.
ANNELLE DUPOY-DESOTO - 19. Beauty shop assistant.
CLAIREE BELCHER - 66ish.  Widow of former mayor.  Grande dame.
SHELBY EATENTON-LATCHERIE - 25.  Prettiest girl in town.
M'LYNN EATENTON - 50ish.  Shelby's mother.  Socially prominent career woman.
OUISER (pronounced "Weezer") BOUDREAUX - 66ish.  Wealthy curmudgeon.
Acerbic but loveable.

*Author's note: The women in this play are witty, intelligent, and above
all, real characters.  They are in no way, shape, or form meant to be
portrayed as cartoons or caricatures.*

Location

Blue Macaroon Theater is a "blackbox" style theatre UPSTAIRS on the west
corner of N Portgage Street and W Marion Streen in downtown Doylestown,
just 4 minutes west of Rt 21.  The most likely available parking is on the
corner of W Marion St and Park Dr, slightly behind the Blue Macaroon
Theater.
