*8 Week Film School*
Young Filmmakers Academy's 8 Week Film School is a comprehensive film
studies program specifically designed for kids and teens ages 10-17. Movies
are an important part of our lives and more and more kids are becoming
interested in how they are made. YFA's eight week program is designed to
give your child a crash course in how to create professional movies from
start to finish.
Students will re-produce a scene from a famous movie and learn by
experiencing what went into that scene to make it work. From screenwriting
to lighting and sound, to camera work to editing, YFA's award winning
instructors will guide your child through the creative process and onto a
journey of artistic expression using the cinematic arts.
Classes are held at our Lakewood Studio on Tuesday nights from 6pm-8pm and
are limited to 12 students. Whether your junior Spielberg wants to direct,
record sound, edit, create special effects or act, this program is
guaranteed to provide them with a fun and rewarding experience in a safe
and structured environment.

*Screenwriting*
While courses like our 8 Week Film School and Summer Workshops give
students the full movie making experience, our Four Week Focused Learning
Courses allow them to really focus on individual aspects of film and TV
making. YFA is excited to offer our intro to Screenwriting course taught by
award winning screenwriter Eric Swinderman.
Students will learn to write a professional screenplay that will be filmed
and screened at a theater this summer! Classes are held Wednesdays from
5-7pm.
