*It Shoulda Been You* Opens this Weekend at Hopewell Theatre!

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) presents It Shoulda
Been You at the Hopewell Theatre (702 Mahoning Ave. Youngstown, OH 44511),
Friday, April 19 at 7:30pm, Saturday, April 20 at 7:30pm and Sunday, April
21 at 2pm, Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 at 7:30pm, Sunday, April
28 at 2pm.

Artistic Director Joe Asente states that this production was a long time in
the making for MTC, “This was actually the show that we were supposed to do
for our very first production back in 2016. We announced and held
auditions, and a delay from the licensing company forced us to switch gears
and produce Heathers instead. We have had a few false starts on this show
over the years, but for one reason or another, things never quite lined up
correctly. It may have taken eight years to get here, but I am confident
that this is the time and the cast that we were always meant to have. I
could not be more thrilled to finally take this project on with such an
all-star cast!”.

Asente continued that although this show is lesser-known that some of MTC’s
other more recent productions, he thinks this is a show that Youngstown
audiences will love , “I saw this show on Broadway in 2015 and immediately
fell in love with the music and the story and knew it was something I had
to do. This show has everything you could want packed into a 90 minute run
time; it can make you laugh until you cry and then turn around and hit you
with something that will make you feel things in ways you did not expect.
Everyone can find something to relate to in this show, and that is the
beauty of it. Add to that a twist that you will never see coming, and you
are in for a night of theatre that you will never forget!”

*It Shoulda Been You* is a musical comedy about a wedding-gone-wrong. The
bride is Jewish. The groom is Catholic. Her mother is a force of nature.
His mother is a tempest in a cocktail shaker. And, when the bride's
ex-boyfriend crashes the party, the perfect wedding starts to unravel
faster than you can whistle "Here Comes the Bride!"  It's up to the sister
of the bride to turn a tangled mess into happily ever after in this musical
comedy for anyone who ever had parents.

The all-star cast includes Maureen Collins, Colleen Chance, Natalina
Kazimir, Edward Bazzell, Nate Beagle, Terry Shears, Roz Blystone, Andy
Scott, Sierra Ellis, Ty Hanes, Ben Doss, PK Lankford, Hannah Sinclair, Adam
Dominick. Directed by Joe Asente with Musical Direction by Tyler Stouffer
with additional choreography by Danielle Mentzer..
