Beethoven continues to be one of the most admired composers in the history 
of Western music. The season finale concert is bookended with Beethoven's 
Coriolan Overture and First Symphony. The program also features the work of 
another German composer, Richard Wagner's Siegfried Idyll, composed as a 
gift to his wife after the birth of their son.
