[NEohioPAL] Lake Effect Concert Band and Polar Vortex Concert in the Park

Snowbelt Musical Arts Association’s Lake Effect Concert Band and Polar Vortex big band will be performing a joint concert on the Painesville Square Saturday, May 18 at 4:00pm as the final concert of Painesville United Methodist Church’s 2023-2024 Concert Series. The Lake Effect Concert Band, under the direction of Greg Hillis, will be performing a mix of classical and popular music that all has a French connection, while Scott Golenski will be leading Polar Vortex in a program of jazz standards by Duke Ellington, Henry Mancini, and Lerner and Loewe. Lauren Cvetichan, a recent graduate of Mentor High School, will be featured as flute soloist with the Lake Effect Concert Band performing Meditation from Thais by Jules Massenet.
The concert is free and open to the public; no tickets are required. A freewill offering will be taken at the intermission. Concert-goers should bring a lawn chair or blanket and are welcome to bring food and beverages. Alcohol is prohibited. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved into Painesville United Methodist Church, 71 Park Pl, Painesville. Restrooms are available in the church during the concert. The concert will last approximately 2 hours.
