[NEohioPAL] The 2024 Ohio Community Theatre Association's (OCTA) Northeast Region Festival

We are proud to announce a special theatrical event that you won't want to miss this summer! Sponsored by OCTA's NE Region and the Hudson Players, this festival is a theatrical competition that features 4 theaters from NE Ohio. Each theater has the opportunity to perform an excerpt of a show produced in their last season and will be adjudicated right after their performance. One theater will be selected to perform their excerpt at the OCTA State Conference held over Labor Day Weekend in Newark, OH.
OCTA's NE Region Festival on June 22 will be held at the Barlow Community Center located at 41 South Oviatt St. in Hudson, OH. The schedule of the excerpts is below.
8am: Registration Opens8:45am: Welcome Announcements9am: "The Girl on the Train" from Stow Players10am: "Curtains" from Hudson Players11am: "Bartenders" from Twin Masks Performing Arts CenterLunch Break & short NE Delegates meeting and election of NE Regional Reps1:30pm: "Monkeying Around with the Truth" from The Dover Players2:30pm: Workshop sponsored by Hudson Players3:30pm: NE OCTA Festival Awards Ceremony
Tickets to the festival are only $15 if you order them by June 15. Otherwise, it will be $20 at the door, so save a few bucks and register early!! We also have a limited number of free registrations available if you volunteer for one of the following jobs at the festival. We'll train you and provide necessary supplies. We'll need 1-2 people per job.
RegistrationCheck-in participating theaters, distribute badges and programs, process walk-in registrations
Security (1 filled)Check badges at the door of the theater, ensure that no one enters or exits during the excerpt performances, take care of any disturbances
TimekeeperKeep track of the timing of the excerpts and the judges response time.
RunnerAssist with making sure necessary supplies are available, run errands, assist Regional Reps with taking lunch to the judges, OCTA Admin, and OCTA Fest Chair
