My name is Madison Ledyard-King and I am a local filmmaker and actor from
Cleveland, Ohio. I recently directed, produced, and starred in a short film
called *BLACK BOYS DON'T CRY*. The film has officially been released on
Omeleto, YouTube's top showcase of award-winning short films with an

BLACK BOYS DON'T CRY follows a young black man attempts to repress his
feelings in order to navigate the challenges of his life and the ongoing
demands of college.

The film explores themes of mental health, anxiety, and toxic
masculinity in black men. I want to extend the project to this group
because it touches on such an important subject that I hope some of

This marks my official debut as a filmmaker, and originally had its first
official premiere this year at the Oscar qualifying 48th* Cleveland
