Silver Lining Players in collaboration with Makeshift Theater is looking to cast their next production, War of the Worlds! This will be a staged reading as was the (in)famous original 1938 radio play.

Audition Dates
Monday, August 19, 6-8pm
Tuesday, August 20, 6-8pm
Auditions to be held at the Makeshift Theater at 833 Carroll Street off of East Market in Akron.

This rehearsed reading will be presented as 2PM matinees on October 12, 13, 19 & 20. 

Broadcast by CBS’s Mercury Theatre of the Air on Halloween Eve 1938, this legendary radio play, based on the novel by H. G. Wells, famously had many terrified listeners convinced that an actual alien invasion of Earth was taking place. Adapted by Howard E. Koch, co-writer of Casablanca, and starring Orson Welles, this original script detailed the frightening tale of an extraterrestrial takeover.
