Roles – Multiple roles for men and women

No role has been pre-cast. Silver Lining Players is looking to cast actors 50 years and older for this play, but otherwise seeks diversity and representation in casting and encourages actors of all ethnicities, races, gender identities, body types, and abilities, to audition. This will be a staged reading as was the original 1938 radio play.  Extensive music and sound effects cues will recreate the radio theater experience.

Broadcast by CBS’s Mercury Theatre of the Air on Halloween Eve 1938, this legendary radio play, based on the novel by H. G. Wells, famously had many terrified listeners convinced that an actual alien invasion of Earth was taking place. Adapted by Howard E. Koch, co-writer of Casablanca, and starring Orson Welles, this original script detailed the frightening tale of an extraterrestrial takeover.

Auditions:

Please bring a headshot/resume and your calendar in order to declare any rehearsal conflicts. Auditions will consist of actors reading from the script.

Tentative rehearsal schedule:

6pm Tuesdays, Sept 24 & Oct 1
6pm Wednesdays, Sept 25 & Oct 2

Some rehearsals may be added or cancelled if progress determines it.

All Performances are 2PM Matinees:

Saturdays, October 12 & 19.
Sundays, October 13 & 20.
