*WHAT*

*Back to Basics* is an in-person after-school theatre program where youth
will focus on building the actor's foundational skills for performance.
These skills include developing the voice, body, and imagination. Actors
will also build skill and experience in taking direction, auditioning in a
professional setting, working as a team, and having confidence speaking in
front of an audience. The youth will engage in activities to hone these
skills and apply them to scene work. This fall session culminates in an
in-person showcase for our friends and family. CAN Academy performing arts
activities improve academic skills, instill empathy and responsibility,
build character, and enhance creative thinking.

Thanks to the Cleveland Foundation,* this program is offered at NO COST.* All
classes are in person on-site at Cleveland Public Theatre.
