Little Shop of Horrors Opens This Weekend at Hopewell Theatre!

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) presents Little Shop
Of Horrors at Hopewell Theatre (702 Mahoning Ave, Youngstown, OH 44512)
Friday October 18 and Saturday October 19 at 7:30 pm and Sunday October 20
at 2:00pm as well as, Friday October 25 and Saturday October 26 at 7:30 pm
and Sunday October 27 at 2:00 pm. A third weekend has also been added,
playing Friday November 1 and Saturday November 2 at 7:30pm as well as
Sunday November 3 at 2:00pm.

Little Shop of Horrors tells the story of a meek, down on his luck, floral
assistant Seymour Krelborn, living in Skid Row. He stumbles across a new
breed of plant he names "Audrey II" - after his coworker crush. This
foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to
the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. Over time,
though, Seymour discovers Audrey II's out of this world origins and intent
towards global domination! Will Seymour be able to stop Audrey II from
taking over the world? Join us on Skid Row to find out!

Director Joe Asente states that this musical is the perfect show for this
time of year, “Everyone loves *Little Shop of Horrors*, and it has gone
from an off-Broadway cult favorite to a musical theatre staple that even
non-musical theatre fans can quote and love. This time of year, everyone is
looking for something spooky to do around Halloween, and there is no better
show for this season than *Little Shop*. The show is the perfect mix of
campy, funny, and spooky, and can be enjoyed by audiences young and old.”

Asente continued, “Hopewell Theatre is the perfect venue for this
production. It is currently enjoying a multi-year, open-ended run
off-Broadway in a small venue, and now after seeing it on stage at
Hopewell, it is clear that these small venues are really where *Little Shop*
shines. This is a show that we have wanted to do for quite some time, and
after learning about puppetry in *Avenue Q*, we felt ready to take on the
larger-than-life puppets required for this production.”

The cast includes: Edward Bazzell, Hannah Sinclair, Nate Beagle, Josh
Flemming, Andy Scott, Kate Del, Sammie Gurd, Ty Hanes, Landon Eli, Ryan
Stewart, and puppeteers Paula Stephenson and Sydney Ohlin.

Directed by Joe Asente with music direction by Ryan Lamb and choreography
by Danielle Mentzer. Tickets start at $25 and are available online at
www.millennialtheatre.org.
