Workshop Players present
1940s Radio Christmas Carol
by Walton Jones, David Wohl,
and Faye Greenberg
Directed by Kristina Rivera
The year is 1943 and the Feddington Players are geared up to present their
contemporary take on Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Though it seems a coup
to snag famous soap opera star William St. Claire to play Scrooge, a
mid-show breakdown on his part leads to a hilarious improvised “save” of
Tiny Tim … and even the Lindberg Baby. This charming show demonstrates the
old art of “live radio,” alongside traditional caroling, 1940’s style
commercials that would never fly today, and an amazing rendition of the
well-known Dickens tale. It is heartwarming and funny. And a great way to
usher in the Christmas season.
