*FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEDecember 30, 2024*

*Broadway Musical "The Prom" to Premiere at The Youngstown Playhouse,
Presented By The Millennial Theatre Company!*

*YOUNGSTOWN, OH*– The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) is proud to present
the Broadway musical *The Prom* at The Youngstown Playhouse (600 Playhouse
Lane, Youngstown, OH 44511) during their 100th year anniversary on January
3-5, 10-12. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30PM and Sunday
performances begin at 2:30 PM.

*The Prom* follows four fading Broadway stars who are in desperate need of
a new
stage. In hopes that the heated controversy will give their careers some
shine, they
make their way to a small town in Indiana where a high school senior and her
girlfriend are banned from attending their school’s prom.

Director Joe Asente said that this production of *The Prom* is more timely
now than ever, "This show is an important one for our time. In an era where
the rights and needs of the LGBT community are under attack almost every
day and where the divide between the two political parties could not be
greater, this show shows us that perhaps we have more in common than what
makes us different and perhaps, if we learn to truly love our neighbor, our
world could be a happier and more inclusive space for all of us".

Asente continued, "*The Prom* is a perfect show that not only has catchy
tunes, high energy choreography, and an important message, but it also
delivers it through witty and hilarious dialogue. Truly, this is one of the
funniest shows I have ever had the pleasure to direct, and it has been on
our short list for years. We hope that Youngstown audiences will give a
chance to an unfamiliar show, and with a cast as stacked as the one we have
assembled, this is truly a production that is not to be missed!"

MTC has assembled an incredible cast for this production's area premiere,
including some iconic Youngstown theatre veterans as well as some new faces
to the local theatre scene including Brooke May as Emma Nolan, Brandy
Johanntges as DeeDee Allen, Ty Hanes as Barry Glickman, Brianna Rae Quinn
as Alyssa Greene, Jackie Collins as Angie Dickinson, Nate Beagle as Trent
Oliver, Colleen Chance as Mrs. Greene, Ben Doss as Sheldon Saperstein, Sam
Early as Kevin, Edward Bazzell as Nick, Ashley Smith as Kaylee, Aubrey
Vernon as Shelby, and John Cox as Mr. Hawkins, with an incredible ensemble
including Ashley Graczyk, Michelle Jalbert, Sammie Gurd, Marissa Scott,
John Weber, Alexandra Pappalardo, Paula Stephenson, Emma James, Megan
Delaney, Danny Stephenson, Romerio Dawkins, Alyssa Moore, Darcie Lukiart,
and Andy Scott.

Directed by Joe Asente, choreographed by Danielle Mentzer, with musical
direction
by Ryan Lamb. Tickets start at $23 and are available online at
