Audition Call for "Crossfaded," a Cleveland State University Thesis Film.

Target Shoot Dates: February 28th - March 2nd & March 7th - March 9th, 2025

(Two Weekends / 6 Days)

Logline: When a jaded weed-pedaling stoner in his senior year of college
and a benevolent socially drinking freshman fraternity pledge are locked in
the basement of a frat party, the two strangers cogitate exploring each
other's worlds for the first time in their lives.

It’s a coming of age story that impels two different backgrounds of human
beings to recognize each other beyond the archetypes that they see.

Looking to cast two male actors. Given the nature of the film pertaining to
drugs and alcohol, we ask that only +18 submit for the roles.

   Malcolm - A cynical, weed-pedaling, loner in his senior year of college.
   -

      Ethnicity: Black / African Descent

   Remy - An altruistic, socially awkward, freshman fraternity pledge.
   -

      Ethnicity: Open to any


THINGS TO CONSIDER*** : The script contains moments of actors handling
MARIJUANA, ALCOHOL, and a live REGAL JUMPING SPIDER. (Yes, a living spider!)

“For this project, I’ve adopted and have been taking care of a little
spider. To be honest, I used to be afraid of spiders, but for the art and
this project, it’s a commitment to growth. Actors will also be welcomed and
encouraged to observe the spider/rehearse, in person, before the intended
shoot date.” - Jeffrey Rucker / The Director

Actors will not be paid for the performance. However, meals will be
provided on shooting days, actors will receive copies of their footage, and
we’ll do our best to help with gas or rides.

Filming will take place in or around Cleveland, Ohio.
