Houde School of Acting Summit Instructor Highlight: Jessica Houde-Morris

It all started with her.

Jessica Houde-Morris is the driving force behind everything we do at the
Houde School of Acting. A second-generation Meisner teacher trained at the
legendary Playhouse West in Los Angeles, Jessica studied and taught
alongside Robert Carnegie, who was trained directly by Sanford Meisner
himself. She’s one of the rare few people still carrying that original
torch, and doing it with a deep commitment to the technique and to her
students.

Oh, and speaking of? Her students are WORKING! On major shows (Will Trent,
Atlanta, Haunting of Hill House), big-budget films (Black Widow, The
Holdovers), and national commercials. But most importantly, they are the
heart of an amazing community (and many say it is unlike anything they’ve
ever experienced).

At this year’s Houde Summit, Jessica will lead a special workshop that
brings you into the foundation of her teaching: the Meisner Technique.
You’ll work at the current stage you are at, and you’ll get to watch the
technique unfold across every level. You will be learning all about
listening, building behavior, and discovering what happens when you start
responding truthfully under imaginary circumstances.

Whether this is your first introduction to Jessica, or you’ve trained with
her for years, this workshop is a chance to reconnect with what makes great
acting: truth, spontaneity, and the courage to be affected and changed by
your partner.
