Join us from the Barn at our monthly installment of Acting Up at the
Chestnut Beer Garden (CBG Falls) for our open mic and readings series.
Wednesday June 18th from 6pm-8pm, this month we are PREPARING THE FEAST.
For us, the summer @WRP is a true feast. In a couple of different ways. Our
upcoming production of Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party is a sexy and
dangerous feast for all the senses.
A steamy prohibition tale, steamrolling and roaring its way across the
stage, Andrew Lippa's Wild Party was an Off-Broadway gem that garnered an
array of industry accolades, including Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and
Obie awards. Based on Joseph Moncure March's 1928 narrative poem of the
same name, this darkly brilliant show features one of the most exciting,
pulse-racing scores ever written.
At CBG we will have a reading of the original narrative poem, and maybe,
just maybe some surprise visit from some of our cast.

This summer's outdoor traveling production is it's own Feast of Fools as we
will be staging Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, so our theme for this open mic
will be revelry and tom-foolery, bring your jokes, your stand up routine,
and all of your stories that are just too funny to believe. See you soon!

Come actors one and all! Join us for this summer's outdoor, travelling
production of Shakespeare's classic feast of fools. Twelfth Night, Directed
by Reilly Davidson.

Auditions will be Saturday June 21st from 2pm-5pm and Monday June 23rd from
7pm-10pm @ Western Reserve Playhouse.

There are no preparation requirements for this audition! Come ready to read
from the play and create in an ensemble setting.

Auditions: Wednesday 06/25/2025 from 7pm-10pm & Saturday 06/28/2025 from
2pm-5pm
Audition requirements: Please prepare a single 1 minute monologue of your
choosing and come prepared to read selections from the script.
Callbacks will be scheduled as necessary.
Rehearsals will tentatively begin near the last weeks of July
About the play: This madcap comedy follows three actresses across the
footlights, down the rabbit hole, and into a strangely familiar Wonderland
that looks a lot like American theatre – the resemblance is uncanny! As
these women pursue their dream of performing Chekhov in Texas, they’re
whisked through a maelstrom of “good ideas” that offer unique solutions to
the Three Sisters’ need to have life’s deeper purpose revealed. In the
tradition of great backstage comedies, Anton in Show Business conveys the
joys, pains, and absurdities of “putting on a play” at the turn of the
century.
This play will be cast to be performed by 7 female, female-presenting actors
