hARTworks Productions, Casting Opportunity Paid Actor/Singers open to Ages 16-55 Thank you to those who have already submitted. What a fantastic response! Several roles have been cast. This is for a demo recording of the score. Each recording session pays between $50 and $100 depending on amount of singing required. Must be able to learn music independently with limited coaching. Exciting reading and workshop production soon to come. This is a great opportunity to help shape the characters and music of a new musical. Jenna and the Troublemaker had a bright start with the Sundance Theatre Program and has a promising future, now supported by the Ohio Arts Council. I’m truly thrilled to be developing this in my hometown of Cleveland, with so much amazing talent! The music is complex, influenced by Sondheim or Adam Guettel in that it moves the action of the story forward and deepens character development. Not a rock/pop opera. CURRENTLY CASTING: JENNA Bright, expressive lyric soprano with mid-range belt. Youthful sounding. Complex emotional life expressed in song. Up tempo or ballad. TROUBLEMAKER Nimble, rich lyric tenor. (*open to baritones). Confident, expressive, playful, emotionally rich, occasionally befuddled. Prefer to hear up tempo audition. Complex. MS. PICKET-PIKE Mezzo soprano with high belt. (*open to altos with high belt). Must be able to sing both conversationally nuanced, and soaring, sustained, emotionally compelling passages. Sing whatever shows off your voice and range. ANDY Baritone or tenor. Must be able to rap and sing. Youthful sounding, gender fluid character. Joyful, emotionally complex. Able to communicate both strength and vulnerability. Send both singing and rap samples. *will transpose music for voices with right sound.
