[NEohioPAL] Casting an original play - "We Call it Family"

I will be directing a staged reading of "We Call it Family" by local playwright Laura Barbieri at Stow Players Inc. on Saturday, November 8 at 7:30pm. We plan to have a talk-back session with the audience after the show. The playwright would like to get feedback about the play.It's a play about the foster and adoption process. It's a real-life look into the process and its ups and downs and is very touching. The play is based on a series of interviews conducted by the playwright in the Fall of 2022. Names and certain identifying facts have been changed to protect the identities of the interviewees and described individuals.I'm looking to cast this 6 person play (5F & 1M). No audition is planned. Minimal rehearsals starting in October (probably once per week depending on actor availability). I am accepting headshots & resumes. She has a Master’s Degree inTrauma and Resilience.SARAH: 30s to 40s female: A former foster parent and current adoptive parent, who works for a private foster care agency. She and her husband Alan have five children – four biological (including Gabriel and Joel), and one adoptive (Elena).NICOLE: 50s female: A former foster parent and current adoptive parent. She and her husband Tim have five children – two biological (including Leah), and three adoptive (Tyson, Isaac, and Amber).TIM: 50s male: A former foster parent and current adoptive parent. He and his wife Nicole have five children – two biological (including Leah), and three adoptive (Tyson, Isaac, and Amber).LEAH: 18, female: Biological daughter of Tim and Nicole.MELISSA: 20s female: A foster parent and caseworker for a fostering agency.
