What’s the buzz? The first musical by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber to be produced for the professional stage, Jesus Christ Superstar has wowed audiences for over 50 years. A timeless work, the rock opera is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known series of events but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Loosely based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Superstar follows the last week of Jesus Christ’s life. The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire. The iconic 1970s rock score contains such well-known numbers as “Superstar,” “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” and “Gethsemane.”

Production Dates –March 13 - March 29, 2026
Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 pm

Rehearsals begin – Sunday, January 18, 2026
Rehearsals will GENERALLY be Mondays thru Thursdays 6:30-9:30 p.m. & Sundays 2:00-5:00 pm

Casting Information: 
- Needed: Cast of approximately 30+
- All roles are available, 1W, 8M principals plus ensemble
- All roles are open to the RIGHT person, regardless of age, gender, race, etc.
- Auditions are open to 16+ to adult
- No AEA contracts available for this production.
- Actors appearing in The Fine Arts Association productions do so as volunteers.

Audition Requirements: 
- Prepare a 60-90 second cut of a musical theater song in the style of the show.
- Bring sheet music in the proper key.
- An accompanist will play for all auditioners.
- Bring a detailed list of your conflicts beginning January 18, 2026. This includes any school or work activities/events, sports activities/events and classes that would cause a missed scheduled rehearsal. All cast members must be available for tech week (March 8-12) and ALL performances.
– Bring a recent headshot/photograph to leave with production team.
- Résumés will be accepted (not required).
