Hear the stories behind some of Ohio's inventors like Dr. Edwin Beeman, Garrett Morgan and Merry Hull. The program starts after dinner and is FREE and open to the public. Hear the story of Cleveland's first Christmas Tree; meet the Ohioan who gave us "Up On The Housetop" and find out why the school teachers in the 1800s dreaded Christmas day. The presentation is open to the public. Tickets are $10/person and includes museum admission and the show. If you've been following us on Facebook, you know that we are currently working to create a special edition DVD to honor two of Ohio’s most remarkable women — Victoria Woodhull (https://edenvalleyenterprises.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=656de637cc82c10ef7c222d0e&id=6352be2576&e=8461322d50) and Emma "Grandma" Gatewood (https://edenvalleyenterprises.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=656de637cc82c10ef7c222d0e&id=f0b932ac6b&e=8461322d50) . Their stories broke barriers and blazed trails. Victoria blazed the political trail by being the first woman to run for president in 1872 and Emma blazed the way for women hikers on the Appalachian Trail. Now we’re bringing them together in a powerful new way - but we need your help!

Our goal is simple.  Raise $4,000 to cover the costs of the DVD creation.  This is a modest goal and, with your help, completely attainable. This goal is so simple and basic that you may think, “So many people will contribute that my support is not needed.”  What if everyone thinks that way? Actually, every dollar we receive will not only help us share the stories of these phenomenal females, but will also help Eden Valley continue to tell the stories that others forget.

Victoria Woodhull's story inspires everyone not to be confined by social expectations.  She broke barriers all her life -- besides being the first woman to run for president, she was the first woman to address Congress, she ran a newspaper, she was the first female stock broker on Wall Street, she was a philanthropist and in her later years she even rode a motorcycle!

Grandma Gatewood’s story inspires everyone to walk boldly into life.  It motivates us to think about how determination at any age is what moves us forward.  Emma was one of the first women to prove that we can do and be who we believe we are.  She inspires us to ACT on our goals.  Her story tells us that we should not be influenced by what others tell us we cannot do, because, as Emma would say, “Can’t never DID anything!”

Every dollar will get us closer to our goal of $4,000 and contributions of any size are greatly appreciated.
