CVLT is seeking a Set Designer for the upcoming production of 
Shakespeare in Hollywood

stipend position.

Reporting Structure:

The Set Designer reports to the Director, Martin Friedman and the 
Technical Coordinator, Steven M. Savanyu.

    Production Schedule:

        Rehearsals Begin:November 24th

        *
      o *

        Performance Dates:January 23rd through February 4th

        *

    *Responsibilities & Qualifications:*

    *
      o *

        The Set Designer will be responsible for the following, ensuring
        collaboration and final approval from the Director and Technical
        Coordinator:

        *
  * *

    *Design & Documentation:*

    *
      o *

        Develop and produce a finalized, scaled layout of the set
        design, including elevations and key technical drawings, prior
        to the first rehearsal.

        *
      o *

        Provide the Technical Coordinator with a complete list of
        required construction materials and detailed dimensional
        drawings for all set elements.

        *
      o *

        Submit a list of paint colors and estimated quantities needed
        for the set to the Technical Coordinator in a timely manner.

    *Collaboration & Approval:*

    *
      o *

        Collaborate with the Director to ensure the set design meets
        their artistic vision and secure their approval.

        *
      o *

        Discuss any questions regarding the feasibility of design
        choices with the Technical Coordinator.

        *
      o *

        Create and design any "tricks," gags, atmospheric, and unusual
        special effects in conjunction with the Director’s needs. These
        effects must be approved by both the Director and the Technical
        Coordinator, with the Technical Coordinator having the final say
        on their use.

        Obtain approval and sign-off from the Technical Coordinator on
        the final, Director-approved set design before materials are
        purchased and construction begins.

      o *

        Coordinate and communicate any revisions to the set design with
        both the Director and Technical Coordinator, ensuring all
        parties agree on updates.

      o *

        Attend production team meetings designated by the show's
        Producer, Cindee Catalano-Edelman.
