[NEohioPAL] FCT announces New Plays Workshop

Calling all Playwrights!
We are excited to present to you the inaugural...

*New Plays Workshop at *
*French Creek Theatre*

For the first time, we are opening up our space during our off season to
showcase new and exciting plays submitted from the community!
Please use this form to submit your New Works to French Creek Theatre.
Submissions are due by December 1st. You may submit multiple plays, but
only one work per playwright will be selected. Please submit each play with
a different form.
*Plays must:*
* -Be no longer than 40 min in length*
*-Require no more than 6 actors*
*-Never had a public performance*
*-Be flexible to be produced in a workshop setting*
*-Not contain excessive mature language or content*
Playwrights will be encouraged to direct their piece and will be
responsible for communicating production needs to French Creek as well as
sourcing actors for their script.
Playwrights will be notified by the end of December, if their work has been
chosen for the workshop, and given a deadline for proposed casting,
rehearsal schedule, and other production needs for approval by Cultural
Arts and Nature Manager. *Three to five plays will be chosen depending on
length, production needs, and proposed cast size.*
*Each play will host a free public reading in January/February at French
Creek offering an opportunity for the community and other artists to give
feedback on the script*.
Rehearsal spaces will be provided at French Creek Nature Center from late
February 22nd to March 22nd. Technical rehearsals will take place the week
of March 22nd in Ewing Hall at French Creek Theatre, and performances will
be March 26th-29th at 7:30pm. PLAYWRIGHTS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE
READING OF THEIR PLAY AS WELL AS ALL THREE PERFORMANCES.
Playwrights and actors will be awarded a stipend following the completion
of the festival.
