*Business Sense for Actors* is a 3-hour intensive focusing on the basics of
the professional world of being an actor.

We'll cover finding performance opportunities while avoiding scams and
pitfalls, understanding your rights on set or in a production, finding
professional representation and more.

Learn how to find auditions, understanding your 'type', how to read a
breakdown, what an agent does and how to get one, and how to be your own
professional manager.

About the instructor:

   - Gregory James has worked for agents and casting directors learning the
   ins and outs of the representation side of the agency.
   - He's also worked on dozens of professional sets in both Union and
   Non-Union settings. No matter what kind of set you're on, you have rights
   as a performer!
   - The industry is ever-evolving and moving faster than ever post-COVID.
   Learn how the industry currently handles auditions, casting, and production.
   - Now more than ever, the onus is on the performer to film, edit, and
   track their own auditions. Learn how to be your own professional manager.
   - Gregory has averaged over 120 auditions and callbacks per year for the
   last five years. This can be achieved through a professional understanding
   of the industry and how you fit into it.

Tom White's *On-Camera Auditions Workshop* breaks down the essentials of a
strong on-camera audition: slating, eyelines, framing, and delivering
truthful performances that read on screen. Through practical exercises and
mock auditions, participants will learn how to make bold, memorable choices
that connect with casting directors and bring characters to life.

About The Instructor

*Tom White* is a seasoned performer with 20 years of professional
experience. A proud member of Actors’ Equity, Tom has performed
Off-Broadway and at regional stages including the Alliance Theatre,
Portland Stage, the Great Lakes Theater Festival, and the Cleveland
Playhouse.

His television credits include guest roles on *Succession*, *Blindspot*, *The
Blacklist*, *Mr. Robot*, *Shades of Blue*, *The Last O.G.*, *Madam
Secretary*, *Elementary*, *The Good Wife*, *Gossip Girl*, and *I Love You,
But I Lied*. On film, he’s appeared in the major motion pictures *Sharper*,
*Passing*, and *Terrifier 3*.


*Storytelling and Standup Workshops for Absolute Beginners!*

We just added a February session of our Storytelling Basics workshop with
Deena Nyer Mendlowitz! The January session sold out quick, so jump on this
opportunity to learn Moth-style and comedic storytelling from a 20-year
vet.

Plus, there are limited spots in the January and February sessions of our
fan-favorite Standup Basics workshop with Bill Squire (Comedy Central,
WMMS)!

Both courses are 4 weeks, with 3 weeks of instruction and feedback followed
by a class show.
