The Parma-Powers Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library is currently hosting the Ukrainian Holiday Traditions exhibit. We have received an overwhelming positive response from our community members and have extended the exhibit to run through Friday, January 16.

This educational art exhibit is presented in partnership with the Ukrainian Museum-Archives Cleveland, the Ridna Shkola School of Ukrainian Studies, and Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization. It features a Pysanky display—colorful Ukrainian Easter eggs decorated with beautiful, intricate designs, a table setting for a traditional Ukrainian Holiday feast, traditional Ukrainian Christmas decorations, and digital images of antique Ukrainian Christmas postcards. The exhibit was created by Alexandra Jarosewich as part of an Eagle Scout Service Project.

In conjunction with the exhibit, the Parma-Powers Branch offered the Ukrainian Holiday Traditions program<https://attend.cuyahogalibrary.org/event/14681347> on Mon, Dec 22 at 7 PM. The event included a presentation providing information about the significance of items on display in the exhibit, like pysanka and didukh decorations and traditional foods. The event also included a delightful concert performed by the Ukrainian Children's Band and moving speeches about how citizens in Ukraine have fought against politically motivated attempts to suppress their cultural traditions.

The Parma-Powers Branch Library welcomes you to stop in and enjoy the Ukrainian Holiday Traditions exhibit. We hope that it will brighten your spirits and inspire you to explore your local library and the world at large with greater curiosity, passion, and imagination.
