[NEohioPAL] Actors needed for last minute screenplay reading

Looking for 5-6 actors for a last minute screenplay reading in Lakewood. This is an informal reading of my second draft for purposes of listening, feedback, and figuring out what still might need to be revised.

We’re hoping to pull a reading together this Sunday evening, March 22nd beginning at 7:00. The original plan was to pull it together in April, but scheduling needs of my draft one cast have pushed it forward a bit. I need to fill three principal roles and need an additional 2-3 people to share various one-scene and 1-2 line roles.

The principal characters are high school seniors, 2 male, 1 female. Looking for late teen or 20-somethings who can play younger. The ensemble actors will be reading various high school staff and students and for purposes of the reading can be any age or gender.

This is a non-paid reading, but I will feed everyone. We’ll be meeting at my home in Lakewood. So, to introduce myself for those who don’t know me:

I’m an actor/writer who’s performed in New York and Cleveland theater (Beck Center, CPT, convergence-continuum, Blank Canvas, Cassidy, and others). I wrote and produced my first short film in 2016. I was out of the film/theater loop for a few years while being my father’s primary caregiver, but now I’m making my way back. I’ve been working on this script for a couple years, and I’m excited to finally get closer to a finished draft and begin pitching it for production.

The tentative title is Continuing Education, and the story revolves around a Gen X woman who has to go back to high school. It’s about second chances  and deciding to live for oneself rather than live up to the expectations of others, told through the lens of the turning points that come with both midlife and young adulthood.

Since this is short notice, I need to figure out quickly if we can pull this off on Sunday. So, I’m setting a cutoff of Wednesday night. If I don’t have enough folks to read, I’m going to cancel and start plan for something for later in the spring.
