Announcing Auditions for a Staged Reading at Makeshift Theatre!

Every Day is Someone New

Written and Directed by Dylan Todd Brown

Every Day is Someone New follows the lives of four residents, and the
nurses that care for them, at Horizon Haven Senior Care as they struggle to
maintain their independence, deal with the realities of aging, and face
their mortality.

Auditions will take place at Makeshift Theatre (732 W Exchange Street,
Akron, OH 44302) on April 3rd from 7pm-9pm and April 4th from 2pm-4pm.

No preparation necessary. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the
script.

Please bring a current headshot and resume if you have them.

*Characters (Please note that ages listed are the character's age and do
NOT have to be matched by the actor)*

MRS.CALHOUN - Female-Presenting. 55. Head nurse at the home. Nearing
retirement. Wrapped up in her own life as she struggles with the loss of
her husband.

OSCAR - Male-Presenting. 85. Former Principal. Veteran. Widower. At the
beginning stages of dementia.

JOSIE - Female-Presenting. 78. Former nurse. Never married. Outspoken.
Witty.

VIRGIL - Male-Presenting. 83. Former construction worker. Desires
capability he no longer has. Jokester/Prankster. Married to MARY.

MARY - Female-Presenting. 80. Former stay-at-home-mom. Nurturing/Motherly
to all. Had dreams of being a writer. Married to VIRGIL.

CHERYL CALHOUN/MRS.WASHBURN/NURSE JEFFERSEE - Female-Presenting. 20s-40s.
MRS.CALHOUN's daughter. MRS.CALHOUN's financial advisor. A nurse at the
home.

JOHNNY/MR.STOKES/NURSE BURNS - Male Presenting. 20s-40s. OSCAR's grandson
that he mistakes for his son. MRS.CALHOUN's boss. A nurse at the home.

*Rehearsals*

Rehearsals will take place online and will be based on actor availability.

Two in-person rehearsals on April 29th & 30th.

*Performance*

The staged reading will take place on May 1st at 7pm.
