The School of Creative Arts at Tri-C invites high school students (entering grades 9 through 12) to participate in a two‑week Summer Theatre Workshop focused on foundational performance training. Students engage in the structured study of voice, movement and acting methodology while collaborating on the rehearsal and presentation of a one‑act play. The program is designed to promote artistic discipline, ensemble skills and college readiness within the performing arts. The program will be led by Tri-C Faculty and Guest Artists. Each day includes: Voice Training: Breath support, projection, diction, clarity, text work Movement and Ensemble Skills: Physical storytelling, alignment, character movement Acting Technique: Objectives, tactics, scene work, character development Rehearsals for a One-Act Play: Table work → blocking → tech → dress rehearsal → final performance for family and friends Whether students are new to theater or experienced performers, the camp offers individualized growth and hands-on creative exploration. The camp will conclude in the performance of a one-act play, "The Day the Internet Died," by Ian McWethy and Jason Pizzarello. Sample Daily Schedule Morning (9 – 11:30 a.m.): Voice and Movement Training Block Lunch (11:30 a.m. – noon; Lunch not provided) Afternoon (Noon –3 p.m.): Acting and Rehearsal Block Final Performance : Friday, July 31, at 7:30pm Tuition for the program is $300.
