ROLE AVAILABLE
Playhouse Square's Education Department is seeking an actress with Type 1 Diabetes to authentically portray the lead character who also has this condition in the 60-minute children's musical adaptation of Sonia Sotomayor's bestselling picture book, Just Ask!. All actors in this production are adults who portray children.

This is a paid position for Non-Equity Actors.

REHEARSAL DATES
Rehearsal times and exact dates are TBD.  We will rehearse 5 to 6 days during the following weeks:

January 10 - January 16
January 17 - January 23
January 24 - January 30
January 31 - February 6
February 7 - February 12

PERFORMANCES
All performances are school matinees and take place during the day, with one special celebratory dinner on the evening of Friday, February 12, during which the cast will perform a song from the show.

PLEASE NOTE:
All actors must be based in or near Cleveland, Ohio, or must provide their own accommodation and transportation. Housing is not provided for out-of-town actors.

TO AUDITION:
Interested candidates should submit a video audition via an unlisted YouTube link, as follows:

Video Requirements:

  *   State your name and the name of the song
  *   Sing 16-32 bars of one song from a musical that demonstrates your vocal range
  *   Perform with live accompaniment or a recorded track (karaoke is acceptable; please do not sing along with a recorded vocalist)
  *   The video must be less than 60 seconds

  *   The deadline to receive auditions is Friday, June 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM.
