*The Roommate*by Jen Silverman, directed by Jonathan McCleery

Auditions: June 1 and 2, at 7 pm at

Workshop Players Theater
44820 Middle Ridge Rd, Amherst, OH

*Production dates: November 5-8 and 13-15*

Rehearsals start in earnest on September 28, but some character work may be
done earlier at the convenience of the actors. Afternoon rehearsals are a
distinct possibility if convenient for the actors.

*Cast requires 2 women, aged 50’s to 70*

The Roommate is a dark comedy about what it takes to re-route your life–
and what happens when the wheels fall off. Sharon is recently divorced and
needs a roommateto share her Iowa home. Robyn needs a place hide and a
chance to start over. But as Sharon begins to uncover Robyn’s secrets, they
encourage her own deep-seated desire to transform her life completely.

*Sharon *is sheltered, curious, awkward socially, uncertain about her
future and what she wants her life to be.

*Robyn *is from the Bronx, secretive, experienced in many ways, brash,
and needing
to escape from her bad choices.

*Audtions will consist of readings from the script.  Optionally you may
also offer a 2-3 minute monologue of your choice.*
