for the new year. We have two Choirs, Sunday evening and Tuesday evening
... both are from 7:30 - 9:30 and meet at French Creek. The Sunday evening
choir is the Chorale and Tuesday is the Community Chorus. The first
major concert will be the TrueNorth Christmas Concert, 12/15 and
16.</FONT></DIV>

style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">TrueNorth Chorale </B>is a choir of select
voices singing from the serious choral repertoire, usually accompanied by the
TrueNorth Symphony.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Membership is
by audition with Director Rick Fortney.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>Major works performed in the past have included the Mozart <I
style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Requiem</I>, Poulenc <I
style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Gloria</I>, Handel’s <I
style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Messiah</I>, and many more.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The Chorale rehearses on Sunday evenings
from 7:30 to 9:30 at French Creek beginning September 16, with four concerts
scheduled for 2007-2008.</FONT></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" align=justify><FONT

style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">TrueNorth Symphony </B>is a volunteer
orchestra dedicated to playing the great symphonic masters and to accompanying
the TrueNorth choral groups in their concerts.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Membership is by audition with Director
Jim Traxler and is limited to instrumentalists at the advanced or intermediate
levels.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>In addition to the choral
concerts, the Symphony performs at a symphonic-only concert in February, often
with a guest artist from the Cleveland Orchestra.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>In past years, the repertoire has
included the Bach <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Double Violin
Concerto</I>, the Mozart <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Violin Concerto
# 5</I>, Tchaikowsky <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">1812 Overture</I>,
Debussy <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Afternoon of a Faun</I>, and many
others.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Rehearsals are on Monday
evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 at French Creek beginning September 24.</FONT></P>

style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">TrueNorth Community Chorus</B> is open to
all singers, no audition required.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>The only requirement is a love of singing.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The chorus is designed to provide a fun
learning experience while singing a wide variety of choral literature, from pops
to Broadway to serious works of music, sometimes in conjunction with the
Chorale.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The Community Chorus meets
on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 at French Creek beginning September
18<SUP>th</SUP>, with three concerts scheduled for 2007-2008.</FONT></P>

face="Times New Roman" size=3>There are other musical opportunities for children
and youth, as well as beginning adult instrumentalists.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The <B
style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">TrueNorth Junior Symphony </B>is an
intergenerational instrumental group which rehearses on Mondays from 5:00 to
6:30 pm.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>While most of the members
are youth, we have always had adult members as well, with aspirations to join
the TrueNorth Symphony when ready.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>In addition, <B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Children’s
Choirs</B> will also be available during the coming program year.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>K – Second grade, and Third – Fourth
grades meeting on Wednesday afternoons, and the Fifth – Sixth grade choir
meeting on Thursday afternoon.</FONT></P>
