November 1, 2007. DocuWeek is designed to help excellent documentaries not
only reach an audience but also to allow them to be eligible for Academy Award

of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences rules for the 2007 Oscar nominations,
documentary features are now required to be exhibited in at least 14 venues in
at least 10 different states. Qualifying films must also screen a minimum of
two times per day for at least three consecutive days. (Complete rules can be

Since this can be a hurdle that not all filmmakers can clear, the IDA has
