Fred and Penny Frese will join the cast of PROOF at Actors’ Summit for a pre-show lecture and a post performance discussion on <B>Sundays January 20th and 27th, 2008</B> ; and again on <B>Thursday Jan. 24th, 2008.</B> The informal lecture, which will focus on the connection between creativity and mental health, will begin at 1:00 p.m, on Sundays and 7 PM on Thursday. The post performance discussion will start immediately after the show (approximately 4:15PM, and 10:15PM respectively ). </FONT></div>

<FONT size=3>The play by David Auburn is currently in performance <EM>through January </EM>27</FONT><SUP><FONT size=3>th at Actors’ Summit Theater in downtown Hudson<EM>. </EM>The play is performed Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. <br>

<div><FONT size=3>The play, <B><I>Proof</B></FONT></I><FONT size=3>, deals with the issue of creativity, productivity and mental health. It also calls into question the relationship between mental health within families. <br>

Guest speakers: <br>
Frederick J. Frese, Ph.D. </FONT></B><FONT size=4>is a psychologist with more than thirty years experience in public mental health care and is presently coordinator of the Summit County Recovery Project. For fifteen years, until his retirement in 1995,<B> Fred was Director of Psychology at Western Reserve Psychiatric Hospital</B>. He is also a consumer, having been diagnosed with schizophrenia as a young Marine Corps officer. Despite his disability, he was able to gain a degree from the American Graduate School of International Management in Phoenix, Arizona, and a doctorate in Psychology from Ohio University. He has authored many articles and book chapters, edited a book on <STRONG><EM>Psychology and the Seriously Mentally Ill</EM></STRONG>, and lectured widely on the subject of schizophrenia. </FONT></div>

Penelope A. Frese, Ph.D. </FONT></B><FONT size=4>is a<B> trustee of the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation and </B>the immediate past-president of the <B>Mental Health Association of Summit County</B>. With her husband, Dr. Fred Frese, and their four children, they are active in the mental health movement. The Frese’s four children are all diagnosed with major depression. With her daughter Claire, Penny produced a video for children on adolescent depression called <B><I>Claire’s Story: A Child’s Perspective on Childhood Depression</I>. </B>Used currently in 49 states and 6 foreign countries, the video was nominated for a Freddy in the area of Adolescent Health in the American Medical Association’s International Film Festival. She has recently completed another video with Time Warner for college students called <B><I>The Best Time: Beating Depression on the College Campus</B>.</FONT></I><FONT size=4> </FONT></div>

<FONT size=4>Proof<I> </I>will have a preview performance on January 10. The official opening on Friday, January 11 will be followed by a reception with the cast. Regular performances continue through January 27, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. </FONT></div>

<FONT size=4>Tickets are $25 on Fridays & Saturdays, $22 on Thursdays & Sundays. College students and seniors receive a $2 discount at all regular Thursday and Sunday performances. Students under age 18 are admitted for half price. Remainder of season subscriptions are now available. Group discounts are available for parties of 10 or more. </FONT></div>
