font-family:Arial'>Gao Xingjian is a Chinese Nobel Laureate playwright living
in exile. <i><span style='font-style:italic'>The Other Shore</span></i> is
considered one of Xingjian’s seminal works. Banned in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region
w:st="on">China</st1:country-region></st1:place>, <i><span style='font-style:
italic'>The Other Shore</span></i> follows a surrealistic stream-of-conscious
narrative about discovering one’s individuality. The play is in the
“physical theatre” style. This will be the second major production
of this script in the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">United
States</st1:country-region></st1:place>. The play is directed by CPT
Executive Artistic Director <st1:PersonName w:st="on">Raymond Bobgan</st1:PersonName>.

small groups. Auditioners should prepare a short monologue (2 minutes MAX) and
may sing (OPTIONAL) 8 bars a cappella. Group work will also be included in the
