Jordan. The prime minister of the twenty five year old nation of Israel was a 75
year old grandmother, Golda Meir.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></FONT></P>

Russia, Golda Mabovich, emigrated with her parents to Milwaukee, Wisconsin when
she was five years old. When she finished grade school, her parents saw no need
for her to continue her education, so she ran away to live with her sister in
Colorado. At the age of 16, finding her sister as “bossy” as her mother, she
moved out, got a job, and rented a room. In Colorado she met Morris Meyerson
whom she married several years later.<o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></P>

emigrated to Palestine and joined a kibbutz. Golda, who had always been
politically active, worked for the labor party and eventually became a
functionary within the Jewish Agency.
