No auditions are required and you do <STRONG><U>not</U></STRONG> have to know
Swedish. A good ear for learning languages is needed, however.

<DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=4>Vasa Voices is a community choir specializing in
Swedish folksongs as a way of preserving and enjoying the rich Swedish musical
heritage. They meet weekly on Monday nights from 7:30-9:00 p.m. at Church
of the Saviour, 2537 Lee Road in Cleveland Hts, (1 block north of Fairmount
Blvd.) Although 95% of their music is sung in Swedish <STRONG>you do not
need to know the language to join the group.</STRONG> However, a good ear
for languages and an interest in Swedish culture would be helpful. They
are a member of the American Union of Swedish Singers and they sing 2 major
concerts a season as well as for occasional other cultural events. Upcoming
performances include the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the Nobel-Monitor Vasa
Lodge as well as an invitation to perform at the Scandinavian Festival in
Jamestown, NY. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=4>Their director is Judith Higbee who holds
both her undergraduate degree in Music Education/Voice and her master's degree
in choral conducting from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. Judith is
in her 13th year as full-time Director of Music at Church of the Saviour
in Cleveland Heights whose music ministry includes 10 choirs in three worship
services plus an active Arts in the Cathedral program.</FONT></DIV>
