Karamu alums include <STRONG><B><FONT face=Tahoma><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma">Langston Hughes</SPAN></FONT></B></STRONG>, <STRONG><B><FONT face=Tahoma><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma">Imani Hakim</SPAN></FONT></B></STRONG><EM><I><FONT face=Tahoma><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma"> </SPAN></FONT></I></EM>(<EM><I><FONT face=Tahoma><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma">Everybody Hates Chris</SPAN></FONT></I></EM>), <STRONG><B><FONT face=Tahoma><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma">Debra Byrd </SPAN></FONT></B></STRONG>(<EM><I><FONT face=Tahoma><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma">American Idol</SPAN></FONT></I></EM>), <STRONG><B><FONT face=Tahoma><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma">Robert Guilluame </SPAN></FONT></B></STRONG>(<EM><I><FONT face=Tahoma><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma">Benson</SPAN></FONT></I></EM>) and <STRONG><B><FONT face=Tahoma><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma">Zora Neale Hurston </SPAN></FONT></B></STRONG>just to name a few.
